As Chief Steward, you’ll lead the stewarding team in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas and ensure the proper handling of kitchen equipment and supplies. You’ll manage inventory, sanitation practices, and back-of-house operations — supporting culinary excellence and upholding IHG’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and True Hospitality.
As Chief Steward, you’ll lead the stewarding team in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas and ensure the proper handling of kitchen equipment and supplies. You’ll manage inventory, sanitation practices, and back-of-house operations — supporting culinary excellence and upholding IHG’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and True Hospitality.
Supervise and coordinate all stewarding activities including dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, and equipment care.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and back-of-house areas in compliance with HACCP and local regulations.
Monitor and control inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and kitchen operating equipment.
Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and storage of kitchen equipment.
Train and lead the stewarding team, enforcing safety procedures and hotel standards.
Work closely with the culinary and F&B teams to support smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
Maintain proper waste management and recycling processes.
Prepare reports on breakage, chemical usage, and stewarding schedules.
Ensure all stewarding equipment and areas are kept in good working condition.
Experience in stewarding or kitchen operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Familiarity with HACCP and local hygiene regulations.
Ability to train and motivate a diverse team.
Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physical stamina to handle kitchen environments and tasks.
