A leading consulting firm in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee financial management and reporting activities. Qualifications

Job description

The CFO will be accountable and responsible for: leading the finance function of the Companies; managing all financial activities and transactions of the Companies in terms of accounting, reporting, compliance, auditing, etc.; actively liaising with the shareholder team to meet their financial management and reporting requirements; and developing and improving the performance of staff within the finance function of the SSC.

Reporting

The Chief Financial Officer will report to the Plant General Managers of the Companies.

Key Accountabilities

Financial Management

  • Prepare policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation of the finance function with high standards of internal control, and monitor and enforce compliance.
  • Ensure the ERP is implemented to its maximum potential to automate business processes and improve efficiency and internal controls.
  • Prepare the budget and medium-term plan in conjunction with the management team, and monitor financial performance by benchmarking against the investment base case and budget.
  • Lead the performance plan with the management team, including a specific medium-term action plan to improve KPIs and KFIs.
  • Manage statutory reporting obligations, including the annual financial audit and interfacing with auditors.
  • Ensure efficient management of cash and working capital to maximize shareholder value.
  • Detect, monitor, and report financial opportunities and risks/threats to the business – secure the former, manage/mitigate the latter.
  • Fulfill all financial reporting requirements for management, the Board, and the shareholder.
  • Ensure implementation of best practices in terms of corporate governance and internal controls in compliance with local regulations.
  • Support/undertake the role of Company Secretary with assistance from local counsel. Prepare financial information for Board and shareholder meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and financial obligations under the OMAs.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including accurate and timely filing of returns (annual, WHT, VAT, etc.)
  • Establish synergies between the Companies and other relevant entities where possible, respecting contractual agreements and confidentiality.
Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead the SSC finance function; provide expertise, drive, and support to the finance team; and develop team members to improve performance and grow their careers where appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain team cohesion among staff and management.
  • Provide technical and managerial leadership to the Companies alongside the management team.
  • Promote an ethical business culture, focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain coordination with the CFOs of the project companies, the management team, and other support functions of the Companies.
Qualifications
  • University degree, MBA and/or CPA/Qualified Chartered Accountant.
Experience
  • Solid experience managing finance departments with a good understanding of tax laws.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and periods of heavy workload.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication, presentation, and reporting abilities.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to coordinate and lead others.
  • Ability to work effectively within a broad cultural spectrum.
Language
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
Location/Travel
  • Based in KSA with occasional travel to plant sites within the Kingdom.
