A well-established organization is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead its accounting function and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records. This role is critical in managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and internal controls, while supporting leadership with reliable financial insights for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, and fixed assets.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and prepayments prior to final posting.
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with IFRS and applicable accounting standards.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, VAT regulations, and statutory filing requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes and follow-ups.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, monitor variances, and provide corrective recommendations.
• Mentor and manage the accounting team, ensuring clear accountability, performance standards, and continuous development.
• Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation within the finance function.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Strong background in financial reporting, audits, VAT, and statutory compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP and accounting systems.
• Fluency in English and Arabic, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, and ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
