The opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and highly knowledgeable Category Manager to join our team, focusing on the sourcing, procurement, and management of Marketing/HR/FI related services across Middle East. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of cost optimization, quality, delivery, and reliability within the Service category, while navigating the complex legislative environments of these regions.

How you will make an impact

  • Leveraging the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process where decided, implements effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy ensuring that the supply base/suppliers have the capability to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Ensures all relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly.
  • Minimizes risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with Hitachi Energy guidelines.
  • Negotiates agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists, terms and conditions.
  • Adapts corporate contractual framework to the local business needs.
  • Recommends frame agreements to management and executes upon approval and Contract risk management
  • Ensures identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost and sustainability) in accordance with Hitachi Energy policies.
  • Defines and establishes local standard agreements wherever needed.
  • Provides and maintains standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with Hitachi Energy directives and guidelines.
  • Designs and implements cost-out programs and/or processes to reach financial targets.
  • Applies and implements SCM standards, tools, and processes focused on business continuity for the assigned commodity or group of commodities.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced education or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • 5+ years of work experience of which minimum 3 years in a Supply Chain Role related to Indirect Categories such as: legal, consulting, marketing, HR, temporary labor or financial services.
  • Ability to work as a team in the functional areas, business units and countries of the respective HUB.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
  • Strong project management and execution skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience in coaching or mentoring others.
  • Bi-Lingual (Arabic and English mandatory) (Need to check with HRBP).
  • Strong knowledge to use of MS office tools, MS Teams, Power BI and SAP Ariba applications.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required. Arabic is plus.
