Duties and Responsibilities
  • As Baker, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation in the following:
  • Use a variety of kitchen tools, including electric mixers, pans, rolling pins, and cutting tools.
  • Have a complete understanding of, and adhere to the company’s policy relating to fire, hygiene and safety.
  • Work in any section of the kitchen when necessary, due to business levels or colleague shortages.
  • Fully understands the team goals and objectives, ensuring that the maximum is done to achieve the targets.
  • Be present throughout service.
  • Have a good knowledge of menus.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene.
  • Knowledge of all safety, security and emergency procedures related to my position in line with brand and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure all equipment of the department is kept clean and in good working condition.
  • Upsell all property facilities and activities.
  • Attend meetings and training as required.
  • Knowledge and strict adherence to LQA standards.
Qualifications
  • To execute the position of Baker, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:
  • Hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized hospitality or Barista school and more than two years’ experience in a similar operational role.
  • Technical skills include Advanced MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. I am also familiar with various hotel systems including MICROS/point of sell platforms. I have knowledge of hotel/resort and policies on discounts/food promotion etc.
  • I am familiar with Food and beverage terminology, application, operation, wine service, costs, menu development food and hygiene codes and controlling inventory
  • Fluent in English
