Job summary

Job description
Summary

Assists/participates in providing state-of-the-art laboratory services in the assigned area. Supervises trainees and students as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Maintains state-of-the-art methodologies and researches literature for current update.
  • Assists in routine clinical work as assigned.
  • Performs assigned specific research /technical task and/or services and collects data and maintains records of all the assigned tasks in line with departmental activities. Recommends and selects other personnel to be assigned to the project and identify equipment and supplies to be used, in addition to the estimated project budget.
  • Participates in writing progress reports, scientific publications and presentations.
  • Participates/assists with clinical trials in accordance with provided manuals and manages the allocated resources to ensure completion of the project.
  • Verifies quality control and proficiency testing results. Assists in monitoring performance standards including quality assurance, quality control and troubleshooting.
  • Trains and assists personnel in the proper implementation and operations of all routine procedures. Teaches students and trainees in the section.
  • Assists in providing consultations and interpretations pertaining to all tests performed by the section.
  • Assists in overseeing the laboratory including maintaining the supplies, equipment and order of necessary materials.
  • Adheres to all laboratory safety rules and regulations.
  • Follows all Organization's related Policies and Procedures.
  • Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education

Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Science (DSC) or other equivalent in related discipline from an accredited university/institution is required.

Experience Required

Three (3) years of post-doctoral experience in a related field.
