Eram Talent, a premier talent acquisition consultancy, is actively seeking an Asphalt Formulation Specialist - Production to join a leading company in Saudi Arabia. The Asphalt Formulation Specialist will be responsible for developing and optimizing asphalt formulations by selecting and combining diverse mix components - including aggregates, binders, fillers, and innovative additives - to achieve required performance and durability standards. The role emphasizes experimentation with novel and sustainable materials and other emerging technologies t.
The specialist will design and conduct laboratory trials, evaluating material properties and mix performance in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and local standards. They will analyze test data to refine formulations, ensuring that laboratory results accurately predict field behavior and that the final mix consistently meets all technical specifications and quality requirements.
In addition, the role involves assessing raw material, introducing new materials or processes, and possibly collaborating with research partners, suppliers, and asphalt plants to validate innovative solutions. The specialist will provide technical guidance on formulation adjustments, production troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all production activities comply with relevant safety, environmental, and technical standards (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO, local regulations).
  • Oversee and manage the daily asphalt production process at the plant to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Monitor production processes and performance metrics to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform troubleshooting for formulation issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advances in asphalt technology.
  • Identify and troubleshoot plant or process issues affecting mix consistency or plant performance
  • Prepare detailed documentation and reports on formulation developments and testing results.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in asphalt formulation and production.
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt materials, chemical additives, and testing methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of asphalt mixing processes, production equipment, and quality control standards.
  • Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, and local road construction specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a plant environment.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, especially when working with QC, lab, or design teams.
  • Experience with plant troubleshooting, process improvement, or automation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of sustainable or innovative production practices is desirable.
