Overview

When you join Amazon as an Area Manager, you’ll gain experience leading a large and diverse team to ensure your area keeps pace with demand. This hands-on role covers the complexity of operations at a global business and what it takes to make everything run seamlessly. You will drive productivity while collaborating with colleagues to address challenges, so no two days will be the same.

Responsibilities
  • Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing
  • Analyse and implement corrective actions to ensure quality and productivity are consistently high, and business objectives are met across all shifts
  • Support and lead a team and handle administrative work while building and supporting a strong team culture
  • Analyse performance and suggest process improvements to optimise work and improve customer service
  • Collaborate with other managers to standardise shift processes
A day in the life

You’ll work shifts and be based at one of our operational sites. Your main focus will be to maintain safety standards within your team and across your site, monitor and maintain process efficiency, and prioritise routine team management and daily operational tasks. You will also handle tasks such as individual escalations, process improvement work, and wide-scale operational contingency planning. You will work with colleagues in other teams and external partners to meet customer demands and targets, analyze data and performance metrics with leaders in your business area, and discuss the operational pros and cons of technical improvements with engineers.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience in data analysis
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Advanced proficiency in written and verbal English and local language
  • Experience working with multiple groups of stakeholders
  • Experience in warehouse operations and logistics or equivalent
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
