Job description
Summary

Contributesexpertise to enhance the Hospital medical education, supports its goal to be aglobal leader in education, training, and research. Focuses on advancingpostgraduate education and meeting international standard.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Conducts a comprehensive review of the Hospital current educational landscape, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to improve the quality of education across all programs.
  2. Develops and implements a strategy to guide of the Hospital towards international recognition, focusing on innovation, scholarship, and professional development
  3. Creates a strategy to professionalize the oversight of the PGME system, ensuring the adoption of international standards and enhancing administrative support for trainees and faculty.
  4. Assists in the establishment of the Faculty Development Centre of Excellence and the Clinician Educator Program and the design and delivery of faculty development programs, enhancing teaching and leadership skills among the Hospital faculty members.
  5. Develops a program evaluation strategy to assess the impact of educational initiatives at the Hospital, utilizing continuous quality improvement (CQI) frameworks.
  6. Establishes a continuing education program aimed at developing the next generation of medical education leaders.
  7. Provides expert guidance on the integration of the latest scientific advancements into the Hospital medical curriculum, ensuring that educational content remains up-to‑date and relevant to current medical practices and research.
  8. Leads the strategic re‑launch of the SACRE conference, positioning the Hospital as a hub for innovation and leadership in medical education.
  9. Participates in the internal review of select residency programs and advising on program enhancement and meeting required international standards.
  10. Mentors faculty and trainees in conducting educational research, guiding them through designing and publishing impactful studies.
  11. Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
  12. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education

MD, PhD Degree in a Healthcare, or other related discipline is required.

Experience Required

Ten(10) years post doctorate experience as an independent professional from anaccredited institution is required.

Other Requirements (Certificates)
  • Additional qualifications or certifications in medical education (e.g., MHPE, Fellowship in Medical Education) are preferred.
  • Evidence of scholarly research accomplishment in the form of publications that shows originality, novelty, significance, and potential impact on the field.
  • Must have publication/s with a Corresponding Author role and their impact factor should be greater than the field’s average. It should be emphasized that standing and appropriateness of journals and other forms of publications are essential.
  • Academic involvement in education and training activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral/written communication and teamwork skills are required.
