What will you be doing?

Subsea7 is hiring an Accountant that will assist to manage and maintain accurate accounting records in compliance with local and group regulations in an efficient and effective manner.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a dynamic role within our Subsea 7 Middle East team within the Finance function. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience in an accounting role in the Oil & Gas, Construction or similar industries.

The individual will be comfortable working under their own initiative and within a team, being able to respond to tight deadlines and deliverables as and when requested by Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely compliance with all statutory filing obligations and confirm that all transactions are accurately recorded and reported in accordance with Subsea 7’s statutory and local legal requirements.
  • Assist in closing process (monthly, quarterly, and annually), including monitoring AP activity, monitoring and checking expense claims, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, preparing journals and conducting analysis on accounts such as prepayments and accruals.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge in accounting standards and provide technical accounting support within the function.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors regarding accounting issues and internal control over financial reporting.
  • Monitor and recommend improvements in departmental controls and procedures.
Requirements & Qualities
  • Have a minimum of 1-3 years experience in an accounting role
  • Experience working in oil & gas or related industry
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact and coordinate with different team members in an international context.
  • Strong excel and ERP system skills (preferably SAP)
  • Self-starter with a solutions-oriented approach
Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting or related discipline with sound accounting knowledge
  • Hold or working towards a CIMA, ACCA Quaification or equivalent
