Account Director – Government & Royal Affairs – Shangri-La Group (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia)

Overview

Shangri-La is seeking a seasoned and strategic Account Director to lead our commercial efforts across the GCC region, with a strong focus on KSA. This high-impact role will represent our iconic luxury property in Jeddah and will be responsible for cultivating relationships with Private Offices, Royal Families, Protocol Departments, Travel Agents, and Embassies operating within the GCC.

Key Responsibilities
Client Relationships & Market Development
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with high-net-worth individuals (HNWI), VIPs, and key decision makers across the GCC.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for clients engaging with our property, ensuring personalized and exceptional service.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with travel agencies, corporate companies, embassies, and protocol departments.
Sales & Revenue Generation
  • Drive revenue growth through targeted sales strategies and account management.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities including entertainment, sports, leisure groups, corporate accounts, special delegations and high-value events.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets for the Hotel.
Market Insights & Strategy
  • Provide expert insights into GCC market trends, booking windows, seasonal patterns, client preferences, and competitive landscape.
  • Uphold brand values and deliver the Shangri-La hospitality ethos across all interactions.
  • Share insights regularly with the Director of Sales & Marketing to influence pricing, promotions, and packages.
  • Represent Shangri-La Jeddah at trade shows, luxury travel fairs, GCC roadshows, industry forums, networking events and virtual events.
Collaboration & Coordination
  • Work closely with the GCC Global Sales team and hotel sales teams to ensure unified communication and strategy.
  • Partner with the operations team at Shangri-La Jeddah to ensure seamless client experiences.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Deliver monthly reports on account performance, market trends, and revenue forecasts.
  • Continuously refine sales strategies based on performance data and market feedback.
  • Ensure CRM accuracy, reporting, and sales documentation follow company standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in luxury hospitality sales, with a strong network in the GCC.
  • Proven success in managing HNWI and VIP accounts.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, negotiation, and client-relationship skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently and remotely within KSA with flexibility for on-property presence, when required.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
  • Willingness to travel across the GCC and internationally as needed.
