Senior Frontend Developer

About the Role :

As a Senior Frontend Developer, you will lead the frontend development of TransPerfect’s most popular product used by tens of thousands of users each month. In addition, you will be involved in the development of new AI-powered products. You will closely collaborate with UX / UI Designers, developers, product managers, and QA team to deliver cutting-edge products and ensure they add value for our customers.

Your responsibilities will include :

1. Collaborating with the AI development team, designers, and product managers to create scalable, high-quality frontend solutions for new and existing products within the AI portfolio.
2. Participating and leading architectural decisions related to the frontend codebase.
3. Providing mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.
4. Leading the improvement and optimization of the team’s existing frontend technology stack, code maintainability, and scalability to meet current and future requirements.
5. Leading and enforcing best practices in code reviews to maintain high-quality standards across the team.
6. Working with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure the highest standards of functionality and usability across all product releases.
7. Troubleshooting and resolving issues, including providing bug fixes and support to customers as needed.

Skills and requirements :

1. At least 5 years of work experience as a frontend developer.
2. Expert knowledge of ReactJS / NextJS and ability to guide other developers in these frameworks.
3. Strong experience in developing accessible software.
4. Knowledge of Docker and Linux systems.
5. Ability to design, plan, and implement complex frontend architectures, including micro-frontends or component libraries.
6. Detail-oriented, responsive, and committed to quality, with a strong background in writing unit tests.
7. Exceptional problem-solving skills.
8. The ability to learn new technologies quickly.
9. Knowledge and interest in computer systems and the latest technologies.
10. Ability to work independently in a changing environment.
11. Analytical thinking.
12. Good written and spoken communication skills.
13. Ability to interact effectively with others in a team environment.

Valued but not required skills and experience :

1. Experience as a technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle, from conception to maintenance.
2. Interest in natural language processing, machine translation, and machine learning.
3. Strong skills in MongoDB, MariaDB, MySQL.
4. Full-stack development skills (Python or GoLang).
5. Experience in designing artificial intelligence solutions.
6. Training or experience as DevOps (private or public cloud).
7. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (like TFS, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) and Kubernetes.
8. Experience developing applications regulated by CFR 21 Part 11 and GDPR.
9. Experience working in the localization industry is an asset.
