About us

Wintringham is a specialised, non-religious, not-for-profit welfare organisation dedicated to supporting older people at risk or experiencing homelessness with high-quality care, housing, and services. We employ over 1000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania.

Your new role

We are seeking passionate candidates for Part-Time or Casual roles in our Recreation team at the North Western office in Flemington. You will assist the Recreation Coordinator in developing and facilitating recreational activities tailored to meet clients' leisure needs in community regions.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Developing recreation programs to promote independence and develop daily living skills among clients.
  2. Participating in regular meetings with case management staff.
  3. Encouraging clients to maintain community contacts and associations.
  4. Promoting recreational opportunities within the broader community.
  5. Facilitating access to venues, events, and recreational activities.
  6. Supporting programs that maintain and enhance client independence.
  7. Maintaining accurate records of activities and client participation.
  8. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislative standards and guidelines.

Candidate requirements

  • A relevant qualification in Leisure and Lifestyle.
  • Experience working with at-risk populations or those who have experienced homelessness.
  • Reliable vehicle (mandatory).
  • Understanding of clients with complex needs and challenging behaviors.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse backgrounds.
  • First Aid Certificate.
