Ornua is an Irish dairy co-operative that markets and sells dairy products on behalf of its Member Co-operatives, Ireland’s dairy processors, and Irish dairy farmers. Ornua is Ireland’s largest exporter of Irish dairy products with annual sales of € billion. Headquartered in Dublin, Ornua employs 2,800 people across 10 global business units, including 13 production facilities. Its core purpose is to build profitable routes to market for Irish dairy products.

The Group is divided into two segments : Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients. Ornua Foods manages the marketing and sales of consumer brands like Kerrygold, Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Forto, and BEO milk powders, with production in Ireland, Germany, and the UK, and sales teams across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

Ornua Ingredients handles procurement of dairy products, sales to food manufacturers and foodservice across the globe, and manages risk through trading strategies, supported by facilities in the UK, Spain, the US, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria, with teams in Africa and the Middle East.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Preparation of Month End Trial Balance
  • Supervision of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
  • Balance sheet management and monthly accrual review
  • Ensure compliance with legal and tax regulations locally and internationally
  • Risk Management : Manage all finance risk aspects within the OIE Espana division
  • Maintain an effective financial control environment and monitor internal controls
  • Drive continuous internal control improvements
  • Financial Performance Management
  • Deliver periodic financial reports to measure performance against budgets and targets
  • Prepare monthly P&L and Balance Sheet commentary with analysis
  • Cost Management : Collaborate with budget owners to monitor and manage costs, establish KPIs, and oversee the annual budget process
  • Operational Finance oversight, including variance analysis and team management
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, support professional development, and ensure effective communication
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations
  • Contribute to the management team of OIE Espana for organizational effectiveness
  • Business Partnering : Provide support to Commercial and Operations teams with financial insights
  • Drive talent development and succession planning within the European Finance team

Key Requirements

  • University Degree in Economics, Business Administration, or similar
  • Master in Finance is a plus
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • At least 5 years of experience in a finance management role with proven control expertise
  • Strong understanding of P&L and COGS
  • Experience in team development and talent assessment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
