The role
ALS Geochemistry in Malaga is seeking Senior Laboratory Assistants to join our Spectroscopy team, which is committed to exceeding customer expectations by delivering high-quality results on time.
This is a full-time position, where you will be primarily responsible for the operation and calibration of ICPMS, ICPOES and/or AAS instrumentation.
The role will initially be on day shift during the training period; however, the successful candidate is expected to be available for a weekly rotating roster that includes day and afternoon shifts, as well as occasional weekend work.
The day to day:
The successful applicants will undertake a range of duties, including the following:
- Analysis of samples using ICPMS, ICPOES and/or AAS instrumentation.
- Perform instrument/equipment calibration and maintenance as required
- Troubleshooting of instrument and quality issues
- Calibration of standards and instrument QC solutions
- Reviewing QC and data results
- Ensuring that client turnaround times are met
- Once training is complete, be able to work autonomously
- Other duties as the role progresses

- A tertiary qualification or Diploma in a Chemistry related field is preferred
- Graduates are encouraged to apply

- Previous or similar instrumentation experience is desirable
- Be able to work within a team environment
- Be able to multi-task and produce accurate results
- Be willing to work shift work
