Role Overview :
We are seeking a dynamic, commercially savvy Designer & Sales Manager to lead the creative and sales strategy for our fashion trading business, with a strong focus on penetrating and expanding relationships with fashion retailers across European markets. This hybrid role combines hands-on trend-led design input with strategic B2B sales development, working closely with buyers, retailers, and manufacturing partners to deliver commercially successful product ranges tailored to each market.
Key Responsibilities :
Design & Product Development :
- Lead seasonal trend research, mood boards, and product development aligned with buyer needs and regional market preferences.
- Translate retailer briefs into viable fashion collections that balance trend, margin, and production feasibility.
- Collaborate with our offices in China and Bangladesh to ensure design integrity, quality standards, and on-time delivery.
- Maintain an agile design approach that can support private label, white label, and exclusive capsule collections.
Sales & Market Expansion :
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan focused on onboarding new fashion retailers across European territories.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail buyers, merchandisers, and category managers.
- Attend trade shows, showroom meetings, and customer visits to present collections and secure orders.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and order volumes in line with margin targets and customer expectations.
Market & Business Intelligence :
- Monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity across Europe.
- Provide actionable feedback to guide product design, pricing, and positioning strategies.
- Work with internal stakeholders to align supply chain, logistics, and production with customer demand and deadlines.
Reporting & KPIs :
- Deliver monthly sales reports, forecasts, and customer insights to the senior management team.
- Meet quarterly targets for new account acquisition, sales growth, and margin contribution.
Key Objectives :
- Secure at least 2 new retail accounts in Europe within the first 6–9 months.
- Drive YoY sales growth of 50%+ in key European markets through strategic outreach and tailored collections.
Design-Led Product Development
- Launch six regionally relevant capsule collections per season with high sell-through rates and minimal returns.
- Ensure 90%+ design accuracy and buyer satisfaction through streamlined sampling and feedback loops.
Market Positioning & Brand Value
- Position the company as a preferred sourcing partner for trend-forward, commercially viable fashion products.
- Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers across fashion retail chains, boutiques, and e-commerce platforms.
Operational Excellence
95% on-time delivery and product compliance through strong coordination with suppliers.
- Implement a digital sales and design presentation strategy (e.g., line sheets, 3D samples) to enhance speed and conversion.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Business, Textiles, or a related field.
- 5+ years of combined experience in fashion design, product development, and B2B sales.
- Proven track record of selling into European fashion retailers (especially Spain, France, Germany).
- Portfolio of past design work and examples of successful retail collaborations required.
Skills & Attributes
- Bilingual or fluent in English and Spanish (French or German is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of European fashion retail buying cycles and market behaviors.
- Confident negotiator and communicator, capable of presenting at C-suite and buyer levels.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), and PLM or design software.
- Willingness to travel frequently across Europe for client meetings and trade fairs.
