Customs Specialist

We are a growing company seeking a Customs Specialist to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Head of Transport, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant flow of goods across international borders by managing all customs-related activities.

Responsibilities: Customs documentation and processes

1. Manage all required customs clearance documentation for both incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring full compliance with local and international customs regulations, including tariff classifications, valuation, and duty calculations.
2. Continuously review and refine customs procedures to enhance efficiency.
3. Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations, tax laws, and other relevant rules, ensuring that internal processes are updated accordingly.
4. Evaluate customs clearance data and performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.
5. Ensure the adoption of the most suitable and cost-efficient customs procedures for each country, and develop strategies to strengthen the company’s overall customs clearance operations.
6. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all customs clearance activities, ensuring compliance and facilitating audits or reviews.
7. Collaborate with customs authorities and internal/external stakeholders to resolve customs-related issues efficiently.
8. Proactively evaluate courier performance, recommend improvements, and monitor delivery times, return processes, and quality KPIs for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in customs processes (import, export, classification).
• Official title of customs representative is desirable.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Strong proficiency in office applications.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret legal regulations and standards.
• Independent worker with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
