For REWE digital Spain, a subsidiary of REWE Group, located in the Technological Park of Andalusia (PTA) in Malaga, we are looking for an IT Engineer to join the Product Data Catalog and API Management team.
As the central solution provider for information and telecommunications systems, we plan, develop, configure, and operate efficient systems and applications for the REWE Group, a leading trade and tourism group in Germany and Europe with around 390,000 employees.
Our team of more than 2,200 IT specialists sets standards for IT implementation in the retail industry and develops new technologies. We manage over 80 logistics centers and more than 23,000 local network connections to ensure continuous data supply to 32,000 scanner checkout counters across more than 7,300 stores.
What you will do
- Platform as a Service (PaaS): Transform existing platforms into PaaS solutions, creating self-service capabilities for internal users and clients, and streamlining access for different business needs.
- Automation and Deployment: Implement and manage CI / CD pipelines using GitLab, integrated with Kubernetes for automated application delivery and infrastructure management.
- Cloud Integration: Utilize GCP to manage scalable and secure platform operations, optimizing for cost and performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop solutions, and provide technical guidance.
- Reliability: Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure proactive platform management and quick incident resolution.
Key Skills
- Kubernetes & Helm: Mastery in deploying and managing applications with Helm charts on Kubernetes clusters.
- GitLab CI / CD: Deep knowledge of CI / CD practices with GitLab.
- Docker: Proficiency in containerization and orchestration of microservices.
- Logging & Monitoring: Experience with systems like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
- Automation: Automation of infrastructure and workflows for efficiency.
What you will bring
- Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure Engineering (e.g., GCP, Azure).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
- Understanding of data and metadata importance.
- Knowledge of databases and APIs.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Residence in Spain with a valid work permit/VISA (no sponsorship).
Nice to have
- Experience with data catalog and API management tools.
- Experience with systems like Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Microstrategy, Tableau.
- Experience with Kubernetes and SQL.
