Within Havas Media Group Havas Hub is a dedicated European team supporting our clients across market co-ordination reporting intelligence strategy media implementation guidance data and digital. The team culture is best described as dynamic entrepreneurial collaborative working as one to solve problems to unlock growth.

Job Summary

We are looking for an ambitious Strategy Manager to help lead the European media strategy for one of our biggest Global clients within the automotive space.

Together with their creative agency we are on a transformative journey not only in an audience and media context but also with an industry undergoing fundamental change and disruption as the shift to electrification (EVs) continues. Against this backdrop and other challenging business contexts Havas Media must remain a highly valued partner with its strategic guidance critical in helping connect the dots between data content and client products / services going forward.

Supporting the Strategy Partner your role is to create compelling market-leading media thinking that whilst ground-breaking and innovative needs also to be understandable admired and readily activated by different local teams with different cultural contexts. Moreover ensuring Havas Media remains indispensable to our client means that the strategy team is at the forefront of growth opportunities. In this role we need strong proven media experience ambition and confidence that can hit the ground running.

Mission & Responsibilities

Intelligence Gathering & Analysis

Our ideal candidate needs to show a natural inquisitiveness and passion for gathering and interpreting data to make solid factual observations whilst identifying real insights to truly propel more meaningful media strategies;

  • Fully conversant with all primary media research tools : TGI YouGov GWI etc.
  • Knowledge of wider sources of potential intelligence : Google social listening tools trend sources
  • Able to tell the important stories in the numbers through clear synthesis and articulation of findings

Client Relationships

It is of critical importance that the Havas Hub team has strong relationships with both our client and their fellow creative. The role of strategy individuals in this client experience is paramount;

  • Build excellent rapport and trust as the foundation for the relationship
  • Politely challenge stoke creativity and help create the glue between global regional local stakeholders
  • Support (the Strategy Partner) in leading all strategic conversations with clients concerning media

Championing The Havas Converged System

Previously known as Mx Converged is our new cross-agency cross-discipline single-minded strategic planning and implementation Strategy Manager you will be expected to;

  • Quickly become the go-to for any questions and guidance sought by Hub colleagues
  • Externally for local teams become the point of contact and possess of a strong understanding and point of view to help local teams successfully work through the strategy stages of Converged
  • Scrutinise and offer constructive feedback for local media rationale and plan responses ensuring central strategic pillars and principles are present and adhered to

Contributing to Thought Leadership

The Strategy Manager will be expected to be a self-starter in finding and contextualising for our clients and industry interesting and innovative developments in culture media and human behaviour.

  • Work together with the Strategy Partner and London colleagues in a joined-up knowledge sharing and best practice programme that positions Havas as leaders in understanding media and developing new ideas
  • Take ownership of the Havas Hub client newsletter
  • Regularly spread useful new developments internally to the Havas Hub team

Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in media agency looking for a move into a Strategy based role
  • Media Intelligence Planning Buying
  • Perspective Ability to identify the problem before rushing straight to an answer
  • Responsibility You will have a can-do attitude and remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Collaboration The role will suit a collaborator not a lone thinker
  • Empathy To display empathy with the public culture and our brands be the consumer in the room
  • Good writing and story-telling skills Can develop an initial thread or thought in a body of work
  • Strong analytical skills Comfortable working with data extracting necessary info to write insightfully
  • Curiosity A restlessness and healthy degree of constructive cynicism
  • Presence Brings gravitas energy and personality to a room
  • Knowledge Experienced in the world of media planning
  • Excellence Track record as a self-reliant player who can be trusted to deliver to a high standard
