Viking is looking for an analytical person who is passionate about streamlining cost control and finance processes and driving operational efficiency. The Cost Control Specialist will review and improve Viking Travel Care's current processes and take the lead in developing future cost control and invoicing procedures, including steps like case closing, cost control, case corrections, payment, invoice handling, invoicing, reporting, and follow-up. The person will also be responsible for the daily management of these processes.

The position may include data analysis tasks related to cost control and invoicing for candidates with relevant backgrounds. For the right candidate, the position could develop into a managerial role with personnel responsibility for the cost control staff.

Responsibilities

  1. Review documents, take responsibility for, and execute cost control and invoicing in Viking Travel Care.
  2. Suggest improvements and participate in developing and implementing enhancements in cost control and invoicing processes.
  3. Document and design standard operating procedures (SOPs), process maps, and workflow diagrams for cost control, invoicing, and finance.
  4. Lead process improvement projects and coordinate with stakeholders and project teams to ensure successful implementation.
  5. Perform training and support in the areas of responsibility.
  6. Serve as the main contact for all matters related to cost control, invoicing, accounting, and reporting services for Viking Travel Care, supporting cost control staff, operations, finance, management, and other departments within Viking Group.
  7. Support the Operations Manager, Director of Travel Care, or other managers with administrative tasks.

Qualifications

  1. Higher relevant education.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in finance, cost control, accounting, invoicing, or related fields, preferably with process improvement expertise.
  3. Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with excellent communication skills. Knowledge of Nordic languages is a plus.
  4. Strong analytical skills and experience in process mapping and workflow analysis.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  6. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  7. Independent and self-driven.
  8. Proficient in digital tools and IT systems.
  9. Data analytics experience is a plus.
  10. Personnel management experience is a merit but not required.
