We are seeking an experienced Benefits Director to lead the design, governance, and execution of our benefits programs in Europe, with a strong emphasis on pension strategy, risk management, and data-driven insights. This role involves driving strategic initiatives for global benefits, including insured benefits management and pooling programs.

The Benefits Director will collaborate with regional and global teams (rewards, benefits, finance, procurement, People & Organization) to align benefits programs with Sandoz’s global strategy.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Overseeing the design, implementation, and management of regional employee benefits programs across Europe, ensuring compliance and alignment with company policies.
  • Developing and communicating guidelines to enhance engagement at all organizational levels, including senior executives.
  • Managing relationships with benefit vendors and providers, ensuring service quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Leading the administration and strategy of global insured benefits programs, such as life, disability, and health insurance.
  • Managing multinational pooling networks to optimize costs and program value.
  • Collaborating with global brokers, local providers, and stakeholders to align regional programs with global strategies.
  • Monitoring vendor contracts and service levels.
  • Aligning country programs with global benefits strategy to meet regional needs.
  • Presenting insights and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Managing benefits costs and budgets for Europe, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
  • Providing strategic counsel within the Europe Region Rewards team.

Qualifications include :

  • 10+ years of experience in benefits, with expertise in pensions and risk benefits in Europe, especially Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
  • Deep knowledge of global benefits practices and industry trends.
  • Ability to leverage data and analytics for decision-making and influencing executives.
  • Proven project management and change management skills.
  • Experience working in global or matrixed organizations.

Fluency in English is required; German language skills are a strong plus.
