For one of our key clients and world leaders in materials technology, Coalesce Management Consulting (CMC) is looking for a Project Engineer to assist our client in the realization/construction of one of their megaprojects situated in Northern Spain. Once the construction phase begins, full on-site presence will be required.

This is expected to occur towards the end of this year or early next year. Please note that you would initially work as an independent consultant (autónomo) through CMC, with the client's intention to make the role permanent upon successful collaboration after or within the 2-year contract.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating the design and construction within their area of expertise and should possess the following qualities:

  • University degree or equivalent in Engineering, preferably Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Instrumentation/Automation
  • Technical experience in executing engineering projects related to the above disciplines
  • Relevant experience in industrial project execution in operational environments
  • Knowledge of design software (e.g., AutoCAD)
  • Knowledge of EHS standards, industry best practices, and legal requirements relevant to their focus area
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and verbal
  • Computer literacy with good knowledge of MS Office
  • Ability to perform tasks in accordance with established rules and procedures

The role involves working closely with the Program Director & Project Manager to:

  • Prepare, review, and approve technical documentation for project design phases, ensuring standards, guidelines, safety, and cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure completeness and competitiveness of project documents for tendering
  • Support procurement processes, from bid evaluation to receipt confirmation
  • Control costs during project execution
  • Supervise construction, installation, and commissioning within their responsibility
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams to integrate work and meet deadlines without delays
  • Execute tasks safely, efficiently, reliably, and cost-effectively
  • Make timely quality decisions and gather data for complex issues
  • Propose procedural, organizational, technological, and productivity improvements
  • Document lessons learned and feedback for future projects
  • Participate in audits as required
  • Perform all tasks safely, complying with environmental, health, and safety regulations
