Would you like a new experience working on one of the 5 most beautiful islands in the Netherlands (Schiermonnikoog, Ameland, Terschelling, Vlieland, and Texel)? A very popular choice for holidays? End the day enjoying the incredible views of the North Sea?

The ideal candidate should have experience and understand the requirements of an independent cook within a kitchen. They will be responsible for preparing lunches and dinners, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring dishes are of the highest quality. A minimum of Intermediate or Upper-intermediate (B1-B2) level of English is required.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Experience in cooking and supporting the Chef and colleagues in the kitchen.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure at peak times.
  • Prioritize quality in food preparation and hygiene.
  • Oversee washing, vegetable preparation, cleaning, snack preparation, mise en place.
  • Assist the head chef or manage their own section in the kitchen.

Requirements:

  • At least an Intermediate or Upper-intermediate (B1-B2) level of English.
  • Studies in Gastronomy.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the gastronomy sector.

What do you get?

  • Contract under Dutch collective agreement.
  • Salary from €13 to €15.50 gross per hour (+ 21 years old). Monthly gross salary ranges from €2,140 to €2,550. Tips: €300 net.
  • Weekly salary payments.
  • Accommodation in shared housing arranged by the employer at a low cost, around €55-€65 per week, close to the workplace.
  • At least 2 meals included during work hours.
  • Workweeks averaging between 35 and 60 hours (high season exceeds 40 hours).
  • Work schedule provided by the employer.
  • Subsidized health insurance at €33.50 per week.
  • Option to rent a bicycle or have one provided by the establishment.
  • Boat ticket paid by our partners in the Netherlands.
  • Support and assistance in Spanish throughout the process: communication, interviews, and information.
  • One night paid for in a hostel in Groningen; subsequent assistance with BSN number registration at the city hall.
