The Corporate Strategy – Market Research Lead supports the Head of Corporate Strategy by providing rigorous, in-depth market data analysis through continuous and consistent assessments to facilitate key decision-making at the executive level.

This role significantly contributes to elevating company-wide standards by offering a deep understanding of ecosystem markets via the 'Market Center of Excellence' (Market Lighthouse). It involves building and updating market models for key ecosystem products (e.g., Accommodation, M&E) and materials, with analysis outcomes serving as the reference point for market data organization-wide, including updates on industry trends, market news, and the competitive landscape (including quarterly reporting reflections).

The position also supports the Strategy Planning Program by fostering collaboration between Commercial Strategy, Finance (Budget & Forecasting), and Commercial Planning & Performance functions, ensuring ownership, accountability, and milestone delivery for the Strategic Plan (e.g., 3-Year Plan).

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop Market Lighthouse 'Centre of Excellence' reports through continuous assessment of market trends, company results, threats, and opportunities impacting the business. This includes:
  2. Building proprietary Ecosystem Market models to analyze market size, growth, and key trends, including macroeconomic KPI correlations for accurate industry growth forecasts.
  3. Conducting primary research via quarterly analysis of key travel companies, external data sources (e.g., Euromonitor, PW, Bank research), internal stakeholders, and attendance at major trade conferences.
  4. Developing competitive landscape reports to understand competitors' strategic goals, size, growth, and profitability to inform strategic and commercial actions.
  5. Sharing weekly market highlights with Exco, Board, and investors.

To support the HBX group strategy definition during the annual Strategic Planning Process, the role involves:

  1. Creating a strategic fact-base by analyzing market trends, competitor outlooks, and HBX performance to identify key issues and opportunities.
  2. Defining key strategic pillars in collaboration with senior management to guide strategic initiatives.
  3. Establishing a Strategy Planning framework that sets quality standards and promotes cross-team collaboration to define, quantify, and support strategic initiatives, including P&L and resource requirements.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation for strategic decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, creative thinking, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Solid financial acumen, understanding financial principles and budgeting processes.
  • Excellent presentation skills to synthesize complex topics into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Good judgment to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Ability to build relationships with senior internal stakeholders.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in market research, analysis, and insights synthesis within a Strategy Consulting firm or global organization.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Management, Engineering, or related fields.
