Offer Description

The role involves chemical synthesis, isolation, purification, and characterization of analogues of an antimalarial lead compound and various chemical probes and fluorescent derivatives for pull-down studies. Responsibilities include supervising less-experienced team members, preparing reports and presentations, organizing outreach activities, and managing stocks of reagents, solvents, and chromatographic materials.

Qualifications

Degree in Pharmacy or Chemistry, plus a Master in Medicinal Chemistry or Organic Chemistry; PhD in Medicinal Chemistry; experience in medicinal chemistry projects with hit-to-lead optimization.

Specific Requirements

Over 2 years of postdoctoral experience outside the PhD university; experience in developing synthetic methodologies; synthesis and characterization of fluorescent compounds; isolation, purification, and characterization of highly polar polyfunctionalized compounds; structural elucidation by spectroscopic techniques; supervision of pregraduate students; management of laboratory stocks; training or experience in intellectual property and biotech transfer; proficient in ChemOffice, MestreNova, SciFinder, and Reaxys; engagement in outreach activities.
