The successful candidate will report to the Contractor Distributor Sales Manager and manage a portfolio of contractor and distributor accounts. Responsibilities include discovering, fostering, winning, and maintaining various commercial construction projects, as well as stock and discretionary business, aligning with the company's growth objectives. The role involves pursuing design-build / P3 project sales within the commercial and industrial markets, focusing on providing comprehensive solutions to clients. The candidate must have advanced knowledge of market pricing, trends, and the contractor-distributor marketplace, and be collaborative, working closely with cross-functional teams to maximize win rates and profitability. Building strong relationships with key customer accounts at contractor and distributor levels to ensure Acuity remains the brand of choice is essential. The role also acts as an escalation point for resolving issues internally and externally.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Set and achieve individual goals, using data analytics to evaluate results against targets, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures for continuous improvement. Foster a culture of open communication, customer service, and teamwork. 20%
  • Conduct sales calls to maintain, grow, and develop relationships with key decision-makers in the GTA contractor and distributor markets to increase sales and brand preference. Engage at all organizational levels. 60%
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Quotations, Business Development, and Contractor-Distributor sales teams to synchronize efforts, increase specifications, improve project win rates, and enhance customer experience. 20%
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Visual Lighting and Controls design, Adobe PDF Pro, and Bluebeam
  • Experience planning and executing virtual and in-person meetings for internal and external stakeholders, including conception, development, execution, and follow-up
  • Strong communication skills, curiosity, creativity, and the ability to present engagingly to large groups. Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize deadlines
  • Leadership qualities, acting as the main contact to represent Acuity Brands ethically and morally
  • Relationship-building skills to develop and maintain key customer relationships
