Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with deep expertise in Python, event-driven architecture (Kafka), and modern API design to join a leading company in the automotive industry.

In this role, you will be responsible for high-level backend design, guiding development teams, and collaborating with multiple architects across the product ecosystem. You will work closely with both technical and functional stakeholders to shape scalable, secure, and high-performing systems based on composable architecture principles and event messaging patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and align backend architecture across multiple products and teams.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentoring to development teams.
• Design secure, scalable RESTful APIs using Python (FastAPI).
• Build and optimize event-driven systems using Kafka.
• Collaborate with other architects to ensure architectural consistency.
• Contribute to and improve DevOps pipelines (including blue-green deployments).
• Ensure proper implementation of testing strategies (unit, integration, performance).
• Communicate and visualize architecture concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences.

Technical Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Solid experience in software architecture roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python, including FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and Pandas.
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Deep understanding of event-driven architecture and message streaming (Kafka is a must).
• Proven expertise in designing robust and secure RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, version control (Git), and deployment strategies (e.g., blue-green).
• Strong awareness of application security, scalability, and performance.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the automotive sector or industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with SAP ERP systems or automotive data workflows.
• Experience working in distributed, international teams and aligning across multiple product lines.
• Ability to facilitate architecture discussions and drive consensus.
