Aeroiuris, a Madrid-based law firm specialized in aeronautics law, is growing and expanding its legal team. We are recruiting an Associate Lawyer to join its Commercial Aircraft Contracts department. The position supports high-volume transactional work involving airlines, lessors, financiers, and manufacturers. This is a key role in the firm's primary legal division, which handles a large volume of work, providing legal execution, risk control, and client support.

Role Purpose

Support the Commercial Aircraft unit by managing complex, high-value aviation transactions. The associate will ensure accurate legal work, transaction coordination, and timeline management under the supervision of the unit’s lead counsel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and negotiating :
  • Operating Lease and Finance Lease Agreements
  • Sale & Leaseback Agreements
  • Wet Lease and Dry Lease Agreements
  • Maintenance Contracts (PBH, MRO agreements)
  • Novation, Assignment, and Sublease Agreements
  • Executing Letters of Intent and supporting multi-party transactions
  • Coordinating Conditions Precedent processes with the CPR&R department
  • Supervising aircraft registrations and deregistrations before :
  • AESA’s Aircraft Registry
  • Madrid Movable Property Registry (RBM)
  • Cape Town International Registry
  • Supporting aircraft finance transactions, including registration of guarantees and enforcement procedures
  • Participating in due diligence, asset tracking, and compliance audits

Additional responsibilities may arise depending on operational or regulatory needs.

Education & Qualifications

  • Law Degree from a recognized and reputable university
  • Preferred : Master’s in Aviation Law, International Business Law, or related specialty
  • English fluency (C1+ written and oral) is mandatory
  • Additional languages highly valued, particularly French, German, or others relevant to international aviation

Technical Knowledge

Candidates must demonstrate or develop proficiency in :

  • Drafting and negotiation of aircraft lease and sale contracts
  • Legal framework for aviation assets and aircraft as movable property
  • Cape Town Convention compliance and international guarantee enforcement
  • National and international aircraft registry operations
  • Regulatory compliance under EASA, AESA, and applicable Spanish aviation law
  • Basic understanding of aircraft financing structures, guarantees, and default procedures
  • Coordination of documentation for complex multi-jurisdictional transactions
  • Familiarity with regulatory developments affecting commercial aviation and leasing markets
  • Awareness of environmental and sustainability-related compliance (e.g. CORSIA, EU ETS)

Terms & Contractual Conditions

  • Contract Type : Permanent
  • Trial Period : 6 months
  • Fixed Gross Annual Salary : Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
