Principal Frontend Lead

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and product-minded Frontend Lead to join a small, collaborative, and quality-driven team. This is not just a development role — we are looking for someone who can own the frontend technically, guide best practices, and lead the team in building scalable, accessible, and sustainable solutions across web and mobile. You will act as a key bridge between technology and product, combining deep technical knowledge with strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership

• Lead frontend architecture and development across web and mobile platforms using React and React Native.
• Define and uphold best practices in code quality, accessibility, performance, testing, and maintainability.
• Mentor 4 team members and facilitate collaborative decision-making with product and design teams.
• Design and maintain reusable component systems using Atomic Design principles.
• Translate Figma designs into accessible, responsive, and high-quality interfaces.
• Collaborate closely with UX / UI designers to ensure visual and functional fidelity.

3. Testing Strategy & Quality Assurance

• Define and promote a robust testing strategy including unit, integration, and E2E tests.
• Use tools like Jest, Testing Library, and Playwright, and set up realistic mocks.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning throughout the team.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Communicate technical decisions clearly and adaptively, depending on audience and business needs.
• Participate in product sessions across departments — including regulatory, operations, quality, and business teams.
• Partner with the CTO to shape the medium- and long-term roadmap for frontend development.

Required Qualifications

1. Technical Expertise & Education

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in frontend development, with significant experience in production-level React and React Native projects.
• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Deep understanding of design patterns, composition strategies, state management, and performance optimization in React.

2. Testing & Tooling

• Strong experience in testing methodologies :
• Unit testing and Integration testing with Jest and Testing Library.
• E2E testing with Playwright (or similar).
• Familiarity with tools such as Storybook, ESLint, Prettier, Husky, and Git (with structured branching workflows).

3. Accessibility & Responsive Design

• Proven experience implementing accessibility standards : ARIA roles, keyboard navigation, contrast, semantic HTML.
• Working knowledge of WCAG guidelines and applying them in production environments.
• Expertise in responsive web design and adapting interfaces across mobile devices.

4. Product & Team Alignment

• Strong sense of ownership and alignment with product goals.
• Ability to mentor and support other developers, foster knowledge sharing, and help shape team culture.
• Skilled at making well-reasoned technical decisions and clearly communicating them across teams.
