What you do as a Lead Mechanical Engineer (MCF / Data Centres)

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will work with demanding clients worldwide and collaborate proactively with colleagues across the globe. Our MCF projects require advanced knowledge beyond standard building features. A proactive Lead Mechanical Engineer is essential to our clients, who also require detailed 3D designs up to working documentation level. Your daily work will include risk management, assessments, testing, and commissioning protocols, especially in live Data Centres.

  • Manage and deliver mechanical work packages across multiple projects.
  • Identify project scope, design, management objectives, and deliver project documentation ensuring quality and flow of information for contractors, vendors, and authorities.
  • Write technical specifications and reports.
  • Assist the project manager with project costs and risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships, review pre-qualifications, evaluate proposals, and communicate project status to stakeholders.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to project execution and internal process optimization, sharing knowledge to foster continuous development.

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer in the Mission Critical Facilities team, you will be part of a multidisciplinary group providing strategic and operational advice to data center clients including colocation providers, ISPs, and telecom companies.

Our team encompasses diverse expertise such as electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, fire safety, control engineering, and security. Together, we develop integrated data center designs. Here are examples of our projects.

What you bring

You are entrepreneurial, result-oriented, proactive, flexible, and a problem solver. Additionally, you have :

  • A bachelor’s and / or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and / or installation.
  • Good knowledge of standard practices in design and construction.
  • A clear understanding of clients' operational needs.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish, Dutch, or German are a plus.
