About the Role

We are seeking a Data Science Team Lead to manage and mentor a team of 7 data scientists. The role includes driving technical excellence, fostering collaboration and innovation, and refining team rituals to ensure high-quality project delivery.

Your Daily Tasks will Entail :

• Leading a team of 7 data scientists.
• Organizing regular 1 : 1 meetings with team members.
• Mentoring data scientists to improve technical and business skills.
• Conducting performance reviews and setting development goals.
• Establishing effective team rituals for project delivery.
• Enhancing organizational impact through collaboration and innovation practices.
• Staying updated with advancements in machine learning and AI, and applying them within the business.
• Collaborating with the MLOps team to support ML infrastructure and platforms.
• Defining and tracking KPIs for ML projects, and addressing issues proactively.
• Working with product managers to define ML vision and explore solutions for business problems.

Your Qualifications :

• At least 5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or AI.
• At least 2 years of experience leading data science teams and managing projects from conception to deployment.
• Experience in a marketplace or product company.
• Experience with model development, optimization, and deployment in production.
• Familiarity with MLOps best practices.
• Proficiency in Python ML frameworks.
• Experience with SQL.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) for ML deployment.
• Experience solving real-world ML problems at scale.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business teams.
• Ability to balance hands-on technical work with strategic planning.
• Experience hiring, scaling teams, and fostering a high-performance ML culture.
