Job Opportunity : Post-Doctoral Researcher at IGTP

IGTP is seeking to appoint a post-doctoral researcher to work on the project “Gene therapy for Friedreich’s ataxia” in the neurogenetics unit led by Dr. Matilla.

The role involves identifying and validating new biomarkers using omics technologies, evaluating gene therapy in a mouse model with cardiac defects, and conducting functional activity and potency studies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Educational Level : PhD in Experimental Sciences such as Neuroscience, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Biology.
• Languages : Advanced proficiency in Spanish, Catalan, or English.
• Specific Knowledge : Molecular Biology, Gene Therapy, Cell Biology, Omics, Animal Models.
• Personal Skills : Teamwork, autonomy, motivation, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience : Proven experience in molecular and cellular biology, protein analysis.
• Skills in Machine Learning and AI for data integration.
• Additional knowledge (not required but valued) : Animal experimentation, advanced statistics, experience with R, Python, and Unix.
• Type : Permanent contract for scientific-technical activities (Law 14 / 2011).
• Salary : Gross annual salary based on experience and skills, paid in 12 installments.
• Benefits include 23 vacation days, 5 personal days, 2 days for Holy Week, 2 days for Christmas, flexible remuneration (childcare vouchers), and training capsules provided by the company.
