OKU Ibiza is a stunning retreat that blends contemporary design, immersive dining, and a vibrant social atmosphere. As a Pastry Chef de Partie, you will play a crucial role in leading your pastry section and crafting delightful and memorable dessert experiences for our guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
- Lead and manage the pastry section, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to OKU's high standards and recipes.
- Create and develop new and innovative dessert offerings, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry station, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Manage inventory and ensure proper storage of pastry ingredients and supplies.
- Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef and culinary team to ensure seamless service and presentation of desserts.
- Train and mentor junior pastry staff.
- Decorate and present pastries and desserts in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
- Ensure consistency in quality and presentation of all pastry items.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Passion for pastry and a commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences, representing the OKU philosophy.
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or senior pastry cook in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or bakery.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and baking principles.
- Creativity and attention to detail in pastry preparation and presentation.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Fluency in English or Spanish (additional languages are a plus).
