Financial Controller

Looking for an experienced Financial Controller to work for a unique property investment client, based in Spain.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee the finance department’s daily operations to ensure efficient and accurate financial management.
• Manage the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and board reports.
• Compare actual results to budgets, analyse variances, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
• This position oversees the treasury function, including cash flow management and the investment of surplus funds.
• Work closely with the Finance Director to deliver reports, analyse findings, and identify potential risk areas.
• Manage and maintain relationships with external banks and financial institutions.
• Maintain and document accounting procedures and policies to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure accurate financial planning.
• Resolve complex technical accounting issues to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain strong relationships with external auditors and banks to facilitate audits and financial transactions.
• Oversee financial systems and manage external providers for upgrades and maintenance.
• Mentor and develop finance staff to build a strong and capable finance team.

Qualifications :

• CPA / ACA / ACCA Qualified, or equivalent
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities in English.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting packages.
