Join SUEZ Europe & Central Asia, a Business Unit (BU) aiming for significant growth in Water and Waste activities within selected countries outlined in the Group's medium-term strategic roadmap. The focus is on developing activities in Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Serbia, Uzbekistan, and Spain, while remaining adaptable to market opportunities in other regional countries.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Project & Business Development Director (permanent contract) to lead development projects in the Recycling and Energy from Waste sector, handling both household and industrial waste projects, including international tenders, acquisitions, or merchant plant setups.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects through pre-feasibility, feasibility, and bid phases.
- Conduct strategic analyses at country, business, and cross-functional levels (e.g., CO2 assessments).
- Serve as the primary contact with BU, clients, and partners across various countries.
- Define technical and economic solutions aligned with customer expectations and project constraints.
- Lead feasibility studies, bid preparations, and acquisitions, coordinating internal and external resources.
- Monitor project operations and lead steering committees.
- Develop operational and financial business plans with relevant divisions.
- Structure projects by defining contractual frameworks, negotiating agreements such as shareholder deals, PPA, EPC contracts, etc.
- Present strategic analyses related to country and business contexts.
Candidate Profile
To succeed, you should have :
- At least 10 years of experience in project management and business development within the infrastructure sector, preferably with large corporations.
- Knowledge of various business models and legal frameworks for waste infrastructure projects (merchant, BOT, EPC, PPA, etc.).
- Legal expertise in structuring agreements and commercial law.
- Technical, contractual, and economic understanding of waste management offerings.
- Fluent English skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong business acumen, communication, negotiation, and relationship skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to work in a multicultural environment and travel frequently.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Based in Barcelona, Bilbao, Alicante, El Ferrol, or other locations as suitable.
Business Unit : Water Division - Water Europe & Central Asia (excluding France).
