Engineer or Project Engineer

For one of our key clients, a world leader in materials technology, Coalesce Management Consulting (CMC) is seeking a Project Engineer to support the realization and construction of a megaproject located in Northern Spain.

Please note that the initial employment will be as an independent consultant (autónomo) through CMC. Our client intends to convert this role into a permanent position upon successful collaboration within or after the 2-year contract period.

Responsibilities and Qualities :

• Coordinate the design and construction within your area of responsibility and expertise.
• Hold a university degree or equivalent in Engineering, preferably in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Instrumentation / Automation.
• Possess technical experience and background in executing engineering projects related to the above disciplines.
• Have relevant experience in industrial project execution within operational environments.
• Be proficient in design software such as AutoCAD.
• Understand EHS standards, industry best practices, and legal requirements relevant to your focus area.
• Be fluent in both Spanish and English, in written and verbal communication.
• Be computer literate with good knowledge of MS Office.

Additional Responsibilities :

• Collaborate closely with the Program Director & Project Manager.
• Prepare, review, and approve technical documentation for project design phases, ensuring standards, guidelines, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure project documents are complete and suitable for a competitive tender process.
• Support procurement activities, including bid screening and confirmation of receipt.
• Supervise construction, installation, and commissioning within your responsibility area.
• Coordinate with other engineering teams to integrate work into the final project solution, meeting deadlines without delays.
• Execute tasks efficiently, safely, reliably, and cost-effectively.
• Make timely and quality decisions regarding engineering tasks.
• Gather data to inform decision-makers on complex issues.
• Capture user feedback and lessons learned for future projects.
