This role leads all sourcing and purchasing activities for technical equipment and supplies. It serves as the key senior contact for suppliers and internal teams, overseeing sourcing and procurement to support our expanding operations.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Act as the primary contact internally and externally, managing relationships with all suppliers of technical equipment.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships both formally and informally.
  • Ensure appropriate commercial agreements, SLAs, and operational procedures are in place for reliable, compliant, and suitable supply sources.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and recommend improvements.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure optimal supply and a positive company image.
  • Utilize industry knowledge to identify future opportunities and risks, and implement strategies to maximize benefits or mitigate issues.

PRICING, NEGOTIATION, AND PURCHASING:

  • Source and purchase a diverse range of technical equipment and supplies.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices and delivery terms.
  • Ensure the existence of second and third-tier suppliers, especially in critical areas.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve issues promptly to maintain relationships and reputation.
  • Act as the escalation point for issues related to non-conformance, pricing, delivery, or quality.

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT:

  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure confidence in procurement decisions.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding progress, issues, and supplier performance.
  • Update stakeholders on industry developments and trends to support short-term tactical and long-term strategic planning.

PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES:

  • Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts and purchase orders.
  • Assist in developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Engineer or Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Certification or Master's in Supply Chain Management or Procurement, or relevant industry experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a technical procurement role.
  • High proficiency in English (C1 or above) and native Spanish speaker.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
