Security Certification Engineer

Job Description

Product security and compliance are fundamental to the global IT ecosystem.

With over two decades of experience, SUSE maintains industrial-grade security and bespoke product compliance, making our products outstanding. We champion certification standards from authorities such as ISO, NIST, and BSI, allowing us to meet sophisticated customer demands competitively. The race is ongoing, and we need you to stay ahead and succeed.

• Develop frameworks and automation tools for security certifications
• Build certified product configurations and ensure their compliance throughout the lifecycle
• Maintain technical requirements defined by certification bodies
• Maintain certification testing requirements and automation
• Coordinate with production teams to implement recommendations from certification labs
• Approximately 5 years of total computing experience in academia, FOSS, or commercial sectors
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Perl
• In-depth knowledge of Linux OS
• Knowledge of system hardening and security concepts
• Familiarity with Jira and Atlassian tools
• Experience handling XML and YAML formats
• Understanding of OVAL, XCCDF, CPE data formats and feeds
• Hands-on experience with SCAP scanning
• Bonus: Experience with STIG, PCI DSS, CIS Benchmarks
• Bonus: Hands-on knowledge of Ansible, Salt
• Good command of English communication skills
