Role Overview The Data Product Manager drives the prioritisation and delivery of data products within the MAKE domain. This role suits a strategic thinker with experience in data governance, product management, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll ensure data products align with business goals, are scalable, and support reuse across teams and regions.
Key Responsibilities Demand Prioritisation Work with business teams to collect and validate new data product demands. Use value-based methods to prioritise and sequence demands. Maintain a live backlog with a traffic light system for visibility.
Data Product Development Manage the full lifecycle of data products, from MVP to scaling. Ensure developments meet global standards and best practices. Integrate seamlessly with existing systems and processes.
Governance and Compliance Enforce strong governance frameworks and compliance protocols. Monitor adherence to data standards, policies, and best practices. Conduct regular reviews and audits.
Stakeholder Management Collaborate with regional and site teams to gain insights and support for initiatives. Communicate progress, challenges, and successes clearly. Promote cross-functional collaboration and teamwork.
Resource Allocation Define resource needs and work with the IT Lead for effective allocation. Maximise resource use to meet timelines and drive impact.
Monitoring and Reporting Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure adoption and usage. Lead status meetings and performance reviews. Share progress with stakeholders through dashboards and reports.
Continuous Improvement and Service Assurance Act on stakeholder feedback to improve product performance. Resolve issues, bugs, and tickets promptly. Enhance governance and stay updated on industry trends and practices.
Data Roadmaps Create and maintain data roadmaps for the MAKE domain. Align roadmaps closely with business strategies and goals.
Data Contextualisation Strategy Ensure data is relevant and usable for all use cases. Work with stakeholders to uphold metadata standards and consistent contextualisation.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred) Demonstrable experience in data product management and analytics, with a background in the pharma manufacturing sector strongly preferred Hands-on expertise in data product development, including MVP creation, industrialisation and scalable deployment Solid knowledge of data modelling techniques and their practical application, with ability to review models supporting data products and analytics Advanced SQL skills for querying and transforming large datasets, writing complex queries, and ensuring smooth product integration Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels Experience with data management tools and platforms Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Familiarity with knowledge graphs and building semantic layers from data products is a strong advantage
