Commodity Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of the sourcing strategy, managing commercial supplier relationships, supplier performance, and cost management of assigned categories. The role ensures there is no disruption to the supply chain of raw materials, components, products, or services to manufacturing sites by providing effective support to the Company.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be :

  • Implement commodity strategies to procure components of the assigned commodity in North America, Asia, and other regions.
  • Support cost-effectiveness initiatives and establish a consolidated supplier base for products and components according to the commodity strategy.
  • Develop, expand, and consolidate the current supply base, avoiding single-source risks.
  • Assist the Sourcing group in the overall consolidation of insource / outsource strategies of commodities.
  • Contribute to project efficiency by controlling costs and enhancing benefits during new part development.
  • Supervise and handle commodity trends, market indexes, budgets, and overall supply constraints.
  • Support manufacturing sites and / or distribution centers with supplier-related issues.
  • Attend business meetings and stay updated on industry developments.
  • Operate as the primary contact between suppliers and manufacturing sites or other departments.
  • Develop plans for supplier performance improvement, cost reduction, cost avoidance, and projected savings.
  • Assist with new product introductions and the implementation of various project gates.

Who You Are :

A supply chain professional with 6-8 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, demonstrating increasing responsibilities and proven expertise.

For This Role, You Will Need :

  • Develop initiatives to elevate the commodity to the organization's target level by collaborating with cross-functional teams across manufacturing locations. Coordinate actions to prevent shortages, excel with suppliers, and lead cost avoidance efforts.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart :

  • Exposure to NPI / NPD projects as a sourcing leader
  • Handled assigned spend greater than $50 million USD in one or multiple categories
  • Proven experience in supplier performance management and supplier selection
  • Expertise in thermoforming & thermosetting plastics, injection molding processes, and handling various resins
  • Strong supplier networks and relationships with resin distributors and fabricators
  • Experience with tooling / mold fabrication, glass molding, and insulation materials
  • Knowledge of UL certification processes
  • Technical skills in market trend analysis, raw material indexing, and contract management
