OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This role supports the Digital Twin strategy within the EU & Africa JIT and Structures AME team. It focuses on Level 5 of a 7-level Digital Twin adoption approach, collaborating closely with Levels 1, 3, and 4.

Using data from Level 1—Passive Visualization—this role involves creating 3D models for virtual commissioning, layout planning, and discrete event simulation to optimize processes and minimize costs. The role also includes verifying simulations, sharing best practices, and supporting other Digital Twin initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop digital twin models that maximize capital and labor efficiency while minimizing customer impact risks.
  • Support Virtual Commissioning by creating geometry-based models for machine and equipment feasibility, DFA & DFAA assessments, and PLC program evaluation.
  • Lead Discrete Event Simulation efforts by establishing standards, creating process models for plants and projects, refining models based on physical twin data, and supporting material flow modeling.
  • Develop 3D models from point cloud data for layout planning, participate in workshops, and train key users.
  • Share lessons learned and promote a digitalization culture within Lear.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Key Requirements

  • Proficiency in English.
  • Training and experience in Discrete Event Simulation software.
  • Basic coding knowledge.
  • Training and experience in 3D layout simulation software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for presentations at all levels.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office.
