Our Maritime Logistics Department in Algeciras is looking for a Maritime Logistics Coordinator to join the team!

The Position

As a Maritime Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and executing the logistics of delivery and collection of shipments within the Strait of Gibraltar region. This role involves close coordination with customs and port authorities, ensuring that all logistics operations are conducted smoothly and efficiently. Your decisions will directly impact on the operational success of the department, making this a vital role within the organization.

The role is based in Algeciras, a strategic location due to its proximity to the Strait of Gibraltar, one of the world’s busiest maritime routes. The Maritime Logistics Department is dedicated to coordinating complex logistics and supply chain operations, with a focus on delivering exceptional service to our clients. Required Experience and Skills

Preference is given to candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Logistics, Business Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience in ship spares operations.
  • Strong operational skills in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Proficient in logistics management software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Fluent in English (minimum proficiency level of B1).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Logistics Coordination:
    Oversee the scheduling and execution of deliveries and collections from ports and local suppliers, ensuring seamless interactions with agents and companies involved.
  • Documentation Management:
    Create, monitor, and close job records to ensure accurate documentation and tracking of logistics activities. Issue and manage delivery documents, including bills of lading, delivery orders, and customs declarations.
  • Customs Clearance:
    Collaborate with customs authorities to facilitate the clearance of shipments, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Operational Support:
    Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and transportation providers to optimize logistics efficiency and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, agents, and port authorities, to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
