Senior Software Engineer Req ID FY|R&D|#8 Location(s) Spain; Work arrangements include Fully Remote, Hybrid, or Office-based.

Your opportunity: At New Relic, we provide real-time insights to help customers innovate faster through observability tools across technologies and distributed systems. We seek a Senior Software Engineer for our Kubernetes infrastructure team in India, developing and maintaining backend infrastructure for deploying hundreds of Kubernetes clusters across multi-cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP. Our team contributes to open source projects and values asynchronous communication and strong team relationships.

What you'll do:

  • Build, maintain, and scale Go clients/projects and support tools.
  • Contribute to infrastructure development and management.
  • Engage with open source projects to grow skills and reputation.
  • Collaborate on service improvements and research new tools.
  • Ship incrementally with continuous feedback.
  • Work in an agile, DevOps environment, including support rotations.

This role requires:

  • 4+ years of experience in software development/operations.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or relevant field.
  • Proficiency in Golang, Java, Python, or Bash.
  • 4+ years experience with containerization tools like Kubernetes, Istio, etc.
  • Background in system programming and Linux administration.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Willingness to learn new programming languages.
  • Understanding of security, reliability, and performance in distributed systems across cloud providers.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Ansible, etc.
  • API design experience with Go.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • Solid Linux operating system understanding.
