POSITION DESCRIPTION :

CIC energiGUNE is seeking a Laboratory Technician to work in the General Analysis Characterization Unit and participate in the activities of the Electron Microscopy Platform.

Job functions :

  • Keep updated the tools for registering and organizing the analysis requests.
  • Ensure all the material necessary for fluent work in the different analysis techniques.
  • Sample preparation, development of calibrations (if necessary), conducting routine or nonspecific measurements and record all data and results in specified forms with accuracy and responsibility.
  • Participation in the drafting of quality procedures and their implementation according to internal quality standards.
  • Taking care of the maintenance of the equipment and facilities.
  • Provide technical support to different research projects, making contribution to those projects ensuring compliance with analysis and report deadlines.
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
  • Introduction and basic training about different techniques when necessary.
  • Degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material sciences or related fields.
  • Theoretical and practical experience in different analytical and microscopy techniques as :

Scanning electron microscope (SEM) / microscopies. Includes also experience in sample preparation for SEM measurements.

  • Gas Chromatography (GC / MS, GC FID / BID), CHSNO Elemental Analysis or Physical adsorption of gas (BET)
  • The knowledge in other analytical and microscopy techniques will be taken into account, but not mandatory : TEM, He-picnometry or Micro Computed Tomography and or Advanced SEM preparation techniques such as Ion Milling or FIB
  • Ability to identify and solve technical problems.
  • Proficiency for quickly learning new skills or field of study.
  • Good verbal skills in English.
  • Proactive and committed attitude with high levels of initiative, proactivity, and willingness to learn.
  • A good team player who can collaborate with other team members.
