WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THIS OPPORTUNITY

The Legal Advisor in this role will provide support and legal advice across key areas : litigation, financial crime compliance (FCC), cybersecurity, security and intelligence, and legal risk management.

Key Functions

  • Coordination and monitoring of litigation and investigations affecting Banco Santander, ensuring proper resolution.
  • Legal advice in pre-litigation and litigation matters to various business areas, including the analysis of associated legal risks.
  • Management and monitoring of legal contingencies and risks at the group level, ensuring regulatory compliance and mitigating potential impacts.
  • Preparation of reports and active participation in committees and forums related to the legal functions of the bank.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in law. Additional qualifications in Business Administration, IT, or related fields are valued.
  • Master’s degree in access to the legal profession.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a lawyer in the litigation field, either in a law firm or an in-house legal team.
  • Advanced English (C1 minimum).

Skills :

  • Knowledge of criminal law, cybersecurity, and / or ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is a plus.
  • Key skills : teamwork, initiative, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills, effective communication, and conflict resolution abilities in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, multitasking, and in-depth legal analysis.
  • Knowledge of digital forensic tools and litigation management is a plus.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and provide legal advice in a complex regulatory environment, particularly in the financial services sector.
