We are looking for a Senior Accountant that will be an integral part of Mileway’s Accounting operations and will support corporate accounting activities - operations such as bank reconciliations, invoice validations, accruals, statutory audits, payroll bookings, tax revision and intercompany recharges / reconciliations - for our Mileway Mancos across Europe .

As Senior Accountant, you will closely work with the dedicated Finance Manager as well as with the other Accountants part of the team.

What you’ll do

  • Perform day-to-day accounting for entities under your responsibility,
  • Provide accurate accounting for all transactions based on agreements, invoices, bank statements and tax assessments,
  • Invoices validation and approval,
  • Supervise balance sheet reconciliations, across the full balance sheet and perform impairment analysis and going concern assessments,
  • Month-end, quarter and year-end close process,
  • Review intercompany reconciliations and regular intercompany settlements where applicable,
  • Review of statutory annual accounts,
  • Co-ordinate the audit process, liaising with all auditors to ensure completion on a timely basis,
  • Prepare and deliver management and ad-hoc reporting,
  • Prepare information for VAT and tax compliance deliverables,
  • Ensure reporting is in line with all compliance and reporting requirements (e.g. VAT filings, annual tax returns, Central Bank reporting, Office of Statistics),
  • Record corporate costs, handle and manage the recurring intragroup recharges over a high number of entities, maintain depreciation and amortization schedules,
  • Responsible for accurate and timely execution of intragroup services agreements (recharges), including reconciliation of recharged costs for all relevant entities,
  • Closely collaborate with legal, compliance, treasury and tax teams to make sure the team with information that’s constantly up to date, and that your work is compliant,
  • Ensure timely tax payments and filings for all relevant entities,
  • Support and coach more junior team member(s),
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for all financial reporting processes.

What you’ll bring

  • 6 years of relevant work experience in accounting
  • Relevant education in Finance / Accounting (ACCA is a plus),
  • Previous experience with corporate accounting is required,
  • Experience with accounts reconciliation and closing processes,
  • Detail oriented while constantly viewing the big picture,
  • Ability to handle and prioritize a wide variety of situations and challenges,
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for business related matters with a strong desire to learn and support,
  • Ability to work independently but also be an excellent team player,
  • Proficiency with MS Office standard applications. Yardi experience a plus,
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail,
  • Sense of ownership, accountability and urgency,
  • Strong sense of organization with solid problem-solving skills,
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
