Offer Description

The CPBL is an emerging research group at the forefront of cancer genomics. Our work focuses on: (1) deciphering genomic risk factors for colorectal cancer through post-GWAS strategies; (2) identifying pharmacogenomic markers of treatment response and toxicity; and (3) developing biomarkers using integrative omics and liquid biopsy approaches. We are offering a one-year postdoctoral position, renewable based on performance and funding. The annual gross salary is approximately 30,000€. The researcher will also be supported to apply for additional postdoctoral funding to promote the competitivity of their CV. Start date Q3 2025. This is a dry lab, on-site position at IDIS (Santiago de Compostela, Spain). Due to the collaborative nature of the research, remote work is not possible.

Are you the one? Required qualifications

  • PhD in Genetics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in genomics and computational biology.
  • Proven experience in GWAS and/or post-GWAS analyses (TWAS, eQTL)
  • Programming skills in R, Python, or similar languages for bioinformatics analysis.
  • Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments and genomic databases.
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative research environment.
  • Mentorship experience: guiding junior researchers and students.
  • Excellent communication and scientific writing skills, including experience in manuscript preparation and grant applications.
  • An enthusiasm for scientific dissemination, PPI and outreach activities
