The Data Science Pillar in DA&AI will be the organization where Data Scientists and ML Engineers report to within the broader D+A Organization. DS will lead, facilitate, and collaborate on the larger DS community in PepsiCo, providing talent for the development and support of DS components and their lifecycle within DA&AI Products. DS will also support 'pre-engagement' activities as requested and validated by the prioritization framework of DA&AI.

The Data Governance & Stewardship Senior Manager role is responsible for working with PepsiCo sectors and functions to define Enterprise Data Governance policies, rules, and standards to reduce risks related to collecting, storing, and using data. The role requires experience with data governance implementation using tools like Informatica, Collibra, Alation, etc. It demands deep knowledge of governance policies, master data requirements, and business understanding of data usage across various programs within PepsiCo. The Governance Senior Manager will collaborate with various programs and sectors to ensure data-related requirements adhere to the global data governance framework, supporting the rollout of Data Governance platforms (Data Quality, Data Catalog, Metadata management, Reference data) and mapping current data to global standards.

The role involves close work with Data Domain Stewards and sector-specific governance teams to ensure standards are upheld, and new data requirements are managed appropriately.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day with us :

  • Create governance policies, procedures, and rules to reduce data-related risks related to collecting, storing, and using data.
  • Research and navigate legal and policy compliance issues, providing technical, project management support, and policy advice to senior management for strategic projects.
  • Ensure standards are applied by all stakeholders, facilitating discussions across business units to resolve data definition conflicts.
  • Identify risks and controls related to enterprise data security changes.
  • Work with Data Ecosystem team to create policies for external data storage and usage, ensuring adherence.
  • Provide recommendations and documentation for new data standards, business rules, and policies.
  • Gather Data Governance functional requirements from local and global programs and relay them to the global team.
  • Coordinate across the organization to maintain consistency of critical enterprise, digital, operational, and analytical data.
  • Ensure data activities align with the DG program, leveraging standards and best practices.

Qualifications

What will you need to succeed?

  • 8+ years in Data Governance or Data Security and Compliance within a global organization (CPG or Financial sector).
  • 8+ years working with data, data maintenance, and related systems.
  • Strong data management background, understanding of data collection, storage, and policy creation using technology.
  • Knowledge of legal risks and remediation in data compliance.
  • Experience with data governance tools like Informatica, Collibra, Erwin, IBM IGC, etc.
  • Ability to collaborate with legal, business, and technical teams to implement governance policies.
  • Understanding regulations around data acquisition, storage, and usage.
  • Ability to assess legal implications of data compliance gaps.
  • Excellent communication skills, persuasive and influential at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into critical data dependencies and work towards optimized designs.
