Job Summary

Responsible for managing MRP to ensure that materials supply equals demand and to support optimization of overall cost of materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop supply base and Supply Chain strategies tailored to customer or Business Unit strategic materials.
  • Support customer’s business needs using standard processes where possible and customized solutions where necessary. Collaborate with Purchasing and SCM to determine the best approach. Influence customer’s supply chain strategies to leverage those of Jabil.
  • Communicate Jabil expectations to suppliers. Conduct supplier audits, visits, certifications, and performance reviews. Obtain feedback on suppliers’ delivery, quality, and service performance.
  • Support and execute initiatives to improve Jabil SCM strategies.
  • Quote new and existing materials, work with Materials Quotation Analyst, re-quote, and negotiate to reduce costs.
  • Make sourcing decisions based on overall cost and benefits including price, duty, freight, flexibility, service, quality, and terms.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions protecting Jabil’s and customers’ interests, including liability, stocking arrangements, and other agreements.
  • Ensure execution of Jabil pricing and terms & conditions agreements.
  • Improve sourcing options by working with internal resources and customers to add preferred or strategic suppliers to the Approved Manufacturer’s List (AML).
  • Analyze and project component purchase prices for Standard Costing.
  • Provide input to determine competitive Quoted Costs that maximize Materials Price Variance (MPV).
  • Continuously optimize MPV by reducing costs and limiting unfavorable PPV/MPV, with customer authorization for additional expenses.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on suppliers’ performance for continuous improvement.
  • Work with Materials Planners to support overall business needs.
  • Adhere to safety, health, security procedures, and other assigned duties.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge Requirements

  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Operate a personal computer with Windows and related software.
  • Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
  • Write simple correspondence and understand visual aids.
  • Follow simple instructions and deal with standardized situations.
  • Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Perform basic math operations and interpret graphs.

Additionally, the candidate will manage part of the indirect procurement and services, coordinate internal user management, and execute strategies for new raw materials and sample requests. High proficiency in English is required.
