What’s the opportunity?
The position is for a commercial legal counsel who will work with the contracts team while also supporting the wider business in various commercial and legal matters.
What will I be doing?
- Providing legal advice on contractual matters for the Group entities worldwide.
- Engaging in drafting, analysis, and negotiation of commercial agreements, engagement letters, services agreements, NDAs, novation agreements, guarantees, loans, derivatives agreements, shareholders agreements, and other relevant documents.
- Collaborating with legal team members across our global organization and working with senior stakeholders on strategic projects, regulatory issues, product and business development, and operational matters.
- Developing and advising on templates, policies, and procedures to meet new legal requirements.
- Drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documentation related to business operations.
What skills do I need?
- Qualified lawyer with a law degree.
- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably at a major law firm or in-house within Financial Services or M&A sectors.
- Solid background in commercial, contractual, and corporate law.
- Knowledge of payments, financial services, or fintech is highly desirable.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Tech-savvy and familiar with digital legal tools.
- Proactive in identifying legal and business issues, with creative problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in teams across different regions and time zones.
